Driving to Vaishali means crossing the Ganga on one of the long river bridges north of Patna. Allow extra time, as bridge traffic can be slow.

Pawapuri is one of the holiest places for Jains, as Lord Mahavira is believed to have attained nirvana here. The Jal Mandir is a white marble temple in the middle of a lotus pond, reached by a long stone bridge. It is easy to add Pawapuri to a Nalanda and Rajgir day, since all three sit close together.

The Rajgir Nature Safari is a newer attraction set in the forested hills of Rajgir. It is known for its glass skywalk and suspension bridge, and it draws families and young travellers on weekends. Tickets are usually booked in advance online, and the park may close on certain weekdays, so check the current schedule before you drive.
